Kimberly Jane Thorpe is just a wonderful person really. She has wide and varied interests from design and art history to the ins and outs of heat pumps. When we met she was reading three books at once, one on comic design, another on wolves, and another called the Empathic Civilization the thesis of which I still don’t understand…The fact that we could have long conversations about a wide variety of topics was one of the things that drew me into her early on. Her favorite thing to do is creating structures and systems for things. Her training in design extends beyond visuals and graphics and into cooking, events, marketing, and business consulting. A real problem solver. I mean look at the invitation you got! She concepted and executed that by herself. Kimberly is looking forward to growing her team to bring more of her concepts to life. This makes the relationship work great because I’m kind of good at freestyling things. So with her sense of order and planning, and my improvisational skill, we can kind of do anything, even if we have to bicker a little bit to get on the same page.

Marcus
from Kimberly’s point of view:
Marcus Garrick Miller is the most kind hearted yet enthusiastic person I have ever met. He is a thoughtful deep thinker who believes in first principles to the point that he should be sponsored by Penguin Publishing, since he probably makes up 10% of their book sales from how often he suggests people to read the Brothers Karamazov. When we met, I was an avid non-fiction reader, and yet he felt that 600 page Russian literature would be no problem for me :) Marcus also loves writing, I’m almost positive his blurb is going to be twice as long as mine. He is pretty good at the saxophone too, but you may already know that. But what you don’t know is that his stir-fry is “slammin!” He is my favorite conversation partner, and let’s me ask him the most abstract questions early in the morning! Getting back to his music, he is one of the most talented saxophonists I’ve heard. I love the energy he brings to his playing and compositions. I am his biggest fan. Actually, you should sign up for his private playlist of unreleased music, link here :)
